Our Story

A shop built for this stretch of 27

Mike and Dana Harlan opened Lakeside Tire after one too many lake weekends watching neighbors limp off the ramp on a spare. Three bays, real equipment, and a counter that still answers the phone.

Family-owned since 2011

Neighbors behind the counter

Mike grew up in Pulaski County and spent every warm Saturday on the water. Dana still runs the counter — if you've called the shop, you've talked to her. Their son Tyler is in the bays now, and the same rule applies to every wheel: torque it to spec or don't send it out.

We are not a warehouse with a waiting-room TV. We are the place you stop on the way to Burnside Marina, the place Monticello and Russell Springs folks drive to because a neighbor said we'd tell them the truth.

How we try to treat people

Tell it straight

If a patch will do, or you've got another season left, that's what we'll say. We'd rather see you next year than sell you a set you don't need.

Price it once

Written estimate before we touch a lug nut. Mount, balance, stems, and disposal are in the number we quote — not added at the register.

Know the lake

Trailer bearings, load range E, and the hills off KY-90 are not special requests here. They're Tuesday.

The bays

Tools you'd recognize

Coats rim-clamp changers (the 5060 / 7660 class), a Coats computerized balancer, two-post lifts, and a floor jack that has earned its dents. Nothing theatrical. Just the same equipment independent shops from Somerset to Jamestown have trusted for decades — kept calibrated, used by people who were trained on it.

ASE-certified techs. Hand-torqued every time. A re-torque reminder at 50 miles because that's how you keep a wheel on a truck that tows.

What people around Lake Cumberland say

Truck drivers, cabin people, and boat trailers — the same stretch of 27.

Blew a trailer tire coming down 27 with the boat behind me on a Saturday morning. They had the right ST tire on the shelf and had me back to the ramp in under an hour.

They checked my flat, told me it could be patched instead of selling me four new tires. That kind of honesty is why our whole family comes here now.

Drove over from Monticello on a neighbor's word. Good price on Coopers for the F-250 and they had it aligned same day. Truck still tracks straight after a summer of gravel.

We keep a cabin off 127 and stop every July for air and whatever the Suburban needs. They treat weekend people like we live here.

We're the beige building with the green roof and the open bays, just south of town on 27. Wave if you're headed to the ramp.
